If you’re new to the healing frequencies, using them for the first time can be a little intimidating. You might be thinking: Is there a special way you’re supposed to sit? Do you have to chant “Ohm” or light candles while you do it?
In reality, using these healing tones is just as easy as listening to any other kind of music. But here are some quick, straightforward steps to get you started.
Beginner’s User Guide
1. Move to a quiet location that’s free of distraction
It doesn’t have to be a clearing in a sacred forest or a Buddhist temple in the mountains. It can be your bedroom, your backyard, or even a closet. And if your life is too busy to eliminate noise and distractions entirely, just do the best you can.
2. Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down
This could be your couch, your bed, or just a nice spot on the floor. And you can position yourself however you want – there’s no secret Solfeggio pose passed down by ancient healers. The meditation (lotus position) sitting style works great, but it’s not necessary.
3. Choose a track to start with
There’s no “right” order to play the Solfeggio frequencies in. You can start with the beginning, middle, or last frequencies. You can put them in a playlist and let it play through, put your favorite one on repeat, or even set them to shuffle.

4. Set to a comfortable volume
In most cases, our healing music sounds best at a moderate-low volume. After all, it’s supposed to be relaxing. That being said, different people will have slightly different volume preferences. Experiment a little to find the right one for you.
5. Relax & Listen
We suggest using the healing music as a meditation or while in a focused, relaxed state, like when working on the computer or reading on the sofa. That being said, it can be used almost any time – even when you sleep. But avoid listening while you’re driving or when doing something that requires your full attention.
6. Continue to use the music
There’s not a magical amount of time that you have to use the Solfeggio (or 432 Hz) healing frequencies for. You can listen for ten minutes, an hour, or all day. But it is important to listen regularly. You’ll start to see the best benefits after listening for at least a few times a week over a period over a couple months.
Solfeggio Listening Program (step-by-step)
As we mentioned, there is no historical record of a specific order to listen to the frequencies in. But for some people, the above instructions won’t provide the kind of structure they’re looking for. If you’d like a more guided meditation experience, this system will help you along.
Note that this doesn't have to be followed in one session. You might like to do half one day and half the next, or two steps per day over a number of days. You can decide.
Step 1: Pain & Tension: 174 Hz
As you listen to the healing music wash over you, observe your breath gradually become slower and more relaxed as you drift into a state of quiet meditation. Continue to meditate as the healing frequencies relax your muscles and alleviate any pain or tension.
Step 2: Energy, Safety & Survival: 285 Hz
This frequency is associated with the root chakra, or Muladhara. This is our body's most primal and fundamental energy center, located at the base of our spine. Being associated with the color red, the root chakra regulates the energy associated with instinct, survival and safety. If you close your eyes, you may see the color red in front of you.
Step 4: Release Guilt & Fear: 396 Hz
As you listen, this frequency will start to work of dissipating feelings of guilt and fear. Active your sacral chakra by imagining the color orange. If you'd like to use a mantra, use “ut quent laxis” to bring you in harmony with this ancient Solfeggio frequency.
Step 5: Release Past Trauma & Negativity: 417 Hz
Experience relief as negative influences and experiences of your past are slowly removed from your consciousness. Associated with the solar plexus chakra and the color yellow, you might like to repeat the mantra “re sonare fibris”, as the healing frequency fills your being.
Step 6: Heal DNA, Clarity & Peace of Mind: 528 Hz
This is the Love frequency / Miracle tone, said to heal your DNA and cleanse you of sickness and disease. The healing effect can be amplified by intoning “mi ra gestorum” as you meditate, and letting your mind’s eye turn to the color green, which resonates with your heart chakra and the love frequency of 528 Hz.
6. Heal Interpersonal Relationships: 639 Hz
This is frequency that heals our interpersonal relationships and re-connects us with loved ones. Let the color blue wash over you as you experience the activation of your throat chakra. Repeat “fa muli tuorum” as you meditate on your for yourself, your life, and the love for the people you value.
7. Solve Problems, Improve Emotional Stability: 741 Hz
Let your mind expand as it’s filled with solutions to problems and new ways to express yourself. Intone “solve pollute” as you feel your troubles and worries unwind and you begin to think more freely . Let the color purple bring you in sync with your third eye chakra, for deeper intuition and a healthier, more stable emotional disposition.
8. Harmony with Universe & Self: 852 Hz
Feel the heightening of your intuition and your alignment with the spiritual order. Recite “labii reatum” and visualize a golden color as you activate the crown chakra. 852 Hz enables you to connect with the ever-present spirit of the universe, bringing you back to harmony with your higher self.
9. Oneness: 963 Hz
This completes your awakening with the interconnectedness and Oneness of the universe. A bright, pure white light fills your thoughts and visions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Even with the guides above, you may still have some questions. This FAQ will provide answers to the most common queries from new healing frequency users.
1. How long do I have to listen before I start to see benefits?
Many people feel happier, relaxed and less anxious during or after their first listening session. But to get the greatest long-term benefits from the frequencies, you’ll want to have at least three 15-minute sessions a week for 4 to 6 weeks.
2. What position should I sit or lie in?
Whatever makes you feel comfortable. You may find it beneficial to use a traditional meditation posture, like a full or a half lotus, but it’s not a requirement.
3. Can I use them while I sleep?
Absolutely. Just keep in mind that the frequencies will affect your subconscious and may result in some particularly vivid or weird dreams.
4. What volume should I use?
Most people tend to prefer a low to medium volume, but it’s ultimately up to you and your personal preference.
5. Do I need to use headphones?
Headphones can help you tune out distractions and focus on your meditation, but the frequencies will work just fine through your speakers, as long as you're in good earshot.
6. Do I need to focus on something specific?
Not at all; just let go. While it may help to focus on your breath, certain colors, or mantras, you can just as easily use the music while you answer emails or wash the dishes.
7. Should I close my eyes or keep them open?
Closing your eyes can definitely help if you’re meditating or just trying to maximize your relaxation, but you’re free to keep them open if you want or need to.
8. Am I doing it right? Am I doing something wrong?
As we tried to make clear in the beginner’s instructions, there’s not really a right way to use the frequencies, only a very loose set of guidelines. When we begin any new form of meditation or similar practice, we might feel a little awkward in the beginning, but just stick with it and you’ll get more comfortable with time. In short, don’t overthink things; just let yourself be.
9. What if I feel strange, uneasy, or experience negative emotions?
If you’re experiencing negative emotions, like sadness or anxiety, or uncomfortable bodily sensations, like headaches or muscle twitching, don’t worry.
This is all perfectly natural and just another part of the healing process. You are releasing. As the frequencies remove your physical blockages and emotional baggage, it forces them to the surface, but this will pass with time.
